I recently stayed at La Dimora in Matera for three nights and it was a truly memorable experience. The property, built partly from a cave, was a masterpiece of modern and minimalist design. The location was perfect, allowing easy access to all the wonderful sights in the city. The continental breakfast on the small terrace was delightful, with friendly staff serving delicious hot drinks. In the evening, sitting outside the room and watching the town gradually light up was magical. The parking arrangement in a nearby garage was a bonus.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

The cave dwellings at La Dimora Di Metello offered a truly unique and magical experience. The contemporary design and artwork created a stunning contrast in the historic setting. The breakfast spread was generous and delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. The location was great, close to restaurants and attractions. Despite being tucked away, it was surprisingly peaceful. Our room was clean and spacious, although there was a slight musty smell at times. I highly recommend this hotel for a memorable stay in Matera.

The view from the terrace was absolutely stunning, providing a panoramic view of the city. The breakfast served on the terrace was delicious and offered a great start to the day. the convenient valet parking service made it hassle-free to explore the city without worrying about finding a parking spot.
The location of the hotel at the bottom of the Sassi was a bit inconvenient, especially for older guests. The steep stairs and slopes in the area could lead to tired legs after a few hours of exploring.
